Citizenship

Today, Annikah’s certificate of citizenship arrived in the mail:Annikah COC for blog

Though we have the visa and the official stamp in the passport, there is always a collective sigh of relief that comes with the arrival of our child’s certificate of citizenship. This is the last piece of “adoption paper work” that will go in her file. It can now join the files of her brothers in our safety deposit box. I’ll go later this week and apply for her social security number and then there will be nothing else to do until it’s time for the first post placement report!

congrats, in your state do you have to readopt for a state birth certificate? We need this for school. Stinks, thought we were done too with the social security card.

No, we are not required to readopt! We've talked about it, but haven't done it for any of our kids at this point. Maybe one day....as soon as we're "done" with adoptions :)
