We left the hotel at 0600 this morning. It was still dark outside when we started the long drive back to Sofia. Annikah did very well the entire time in the car.
She played with toys, played on the iPad, watched parts of a movie
She even slept for about 30 minutes.![]()
We drove straight to the passport office in Sofia to apply for her passport. Toni’s mom was already there completing the paper work when we got there. So, we didn’t have to wait very long at all. Toni’s mom is a pro at getting the kids to do exactly what is needed for the passport photo. She had Annikah in and out of the little picture booth in about 10 seconds. It was quite impressive! Sorry, no pics of that part of the day!
We arrived back at the hotel in Sofia at about 1330. We ate lunch in the hotel restaurant.
Back in the room, Annikah was a busy little girl!
She vegged out and charmed us with her cuteness:
She checked out the neighborhood from the 6th floor window (in Meredith’s boots):
More cuteness….![]()
She practiced sitting on the potty.
She’ll tell us AFTER she goes in her diaper, but she screamed when I sat her on the toilet the first time.
So, she’s been working on sitting on the potty without screaming. It took a few tries and soon she was smiling there too: ![]()
She even checked out the room service menu to decide what she wanted to eat for dinner (we ordered room service and ate in the room so that we didn’t have to get back out today)
She played in the bath tub (she LOVES the water!):
She had to take a break from getting her hair brushed to answer the TV remote phone:
We spent a lot of time looking at these chunky little feet because this girl is obsessed with shoes (and purses/bags):

Little Miss Busy Bee even spent some time quite literally climbing the walls!
She also spent some time cuddling with mom.
She’s a GREAT cuddle bug!
Right before bed time, she put her jacket on, got her backpack and proceeded to try to walk out the door!
I have no idea where she thought she was going, but my guess is that was as far away from her bed as possible!
It was a long but productive day! Annikah did VERY well over all. It was a long day….lots of time in the car, the passport office, the hotel, the market(where we went to get drinks and snacks)….all new experiences in new places with people who speak an entirely different language. She’s handling it all very well!
Tomorrow is a “down day” and we’re going to venture out to The Mall (that’s the actual name of it) and souvenir shopping. The weather has been BEAUTIFUL so far, which is such an answered prayer!!!!
